Alone In A Crowded Room

You ever feel alone in a crowded room?
Friendly faces with smiles that get you to reminisce
Of some sepia toned partial memory from a time
Long gone
See, these friendly faces care no more or rather had only seemed to care simply because you wished to fit in and be one of the happy people
But the reality of your own loneliness and the simple fact that you never were and never have been one of them sets in inevitably
So why must you cling to these filtered falsehoods and still want for company of these who want as little to do with you as possible.
It's alright though, you fell for the most prevalent of simple tricks in modern society. A false friendship created by only the mind from a time more simple so you could fit in .
Because nobody wants to lonely in a crowded room.
A miserable person in a miserable place should be quite intuitive yet when disguised as a place of enlightenment and of a social haven, it could be misleading
Enlightenment?! Ha. Quite the opposite, this veil of false hopes and fake people only seems to grow more opaque
With each passing day
Nothing enlightening about losing your "friends" who were never your company to begin with but for some godforsaken reason, you've decided to hold on to some sepia toned false memory of a time more happy. When I shouldn't have fucking bothered peeking my head out of my shell in the first fucking place.
It was all too easy to believe I might've gotten myself a group where I belong where I belong. Much harder for it to have been real.
As it turns out, it was just in my head. There were no friendships, no good ol times to go back to.
Fuck you for leading me on and making me disposable.
Fuck me for letting it work and feeling like shit afterwards
I didn't really start off miserable, nobody starts off miserable.
I have my "friends" to thank for that. See, for a normally asocial person to get dragged out because this is what you're meant to do and then getting left feeling like some stranger in a crowd is not fun.
You ever feel alone in a crowded room? It's doesn't feel great.
